Let us first get some insight on how the Sleep application works in gear Fit, there are two modes of recording your sleep in Gear fit Sleep Application Manual mode and Automatic mode.
In Manual mode, you need to click on the Start button when you are going to sleep and after you wake up from your nap click on the Stop button which will then record the duration of your sleep.
In Automatic mode that should be set will automatically record your sleep cycles on its own without clicking anything before or after you sleep. Your gear fit will detect the lack of body movements for one minute and starts the Timer. If you are sleeping for less than 2 hours and wake up in 30 minutes the sleep cycle is not recorded.

Samsung Galaxy Watch: 4g Lte Performance
As we mentioned up top, Samsung, like its main rival Apple, gives you the option to cut the tether from your phone with a 4G LTE edition of its smartwatch. This is something you’re able to take advantage of in the UK and US, providing you’re willing to pay the extra money per month, and we managed to get our hands on one and test out how it performs.
One of the key factors on our minds during testing was the effect the cellular connectivity would have on battery life – this is, after all, is the headline feature of the Galaxy Watch and one that has the potential to put it ahead of rival watches.
Unfortunately, though, it’s impossible not to notice the drain that even relatively light connectivity has on the Galaxy Watch. When testing the device and streaming Spotify over EE’s 4G network, the battery drained by around 20% over a 45-minute playlist.
That may not be so bad if you consider that it can easily handle streaming tunes during a morning run or perhaps taking the place of your phone during a commute to work, but after a couple of days of this kind of use, it means those battery claims begin to fall by the wayside.
Now, with that said, battery drain is always a tricky matter to comment on, as heavy use for one person doesn’t necessarily translate to the next. What’s perhaps more important here is the actual performance, and overall we were impressed with the 4G LTE Galaxy Watch.
Why Buy The Samsung Gear Sport
If youre looking for a sports-centric wearable, the Samsung Gear Sport gets plenty right provided you dont mind using Samsung Health as your central hub. The Gear Sport has all of the features and specifications of a sports watch that youd want. The activity tracking, too, is generally well implemented.
However, it falls flat as a smartwatch, mainly a result of the usual Tizen OS limitations namely, there just arent enough apps. Basic smartwatch operations are present, such as well-managed notifications, but the rest hasnt really evolved since the Samsung Gear S2. Much of this functionality is also available in the cheaper Samsung Gear Fit2 and Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro, albeit in a different form factor, making the Gear Sport less compelling overall, but still a step ahead of the similarly priced Fitbit Ionic.

Setup For Sleep Tracking Using Samsung Health App
If you havent done this already, we need to ensure sleep tracking is correctly configured.
First things first, you need to pair the Samsung Galaxy Watch with a smartphone. While you can use sleep tracking independently, a smartphone keeps the results over days, weeks, or even months of sleep tracking.
And thats a good way of motivating yourself to do better.
Samsung Galaxy Watch: Design
As we’ve already mentioned, unlike the Gear S3 and the Sport, the Galaxy Watch comes in two sizes. There’s the Gear S3-matching 46mm model and a 42mm version, matching the Sport, that’s clearly aimed at slimmer wrists. With a rose gold option, as well, this is likely seen in-house as the Galaxy Watch option for women.
The silver version of the Galaxy Watch is only available with the 46mm edition, while the midnight black and rose gold are only available in 42mm. There are no extras as far as software is concerned, so it really boils down to how big or small you want that Galaxy Watch to look on your wrist.
Both the 46mm and 42mm options feel like Samsung has merged design aspects from both the Frontier and Classic S3 models into one watch. Everything suggests that this shouldn’t work, but, actually, up close, it’s a decent looker. It retains the robust-looking black rotating bezel from the Frontier but marries that with the more luxurious metal casing used on the Gear S3 Classic, and it really looks the part.
The most surprising thing about the Galaxy Watch is that despite measuring in with the same 46mm body as the two Gear S3 models, it manages to carry that heft well this doesn’t feel bulky to wear. To be fair, this is no 51mm-sized Garmin Fenix 5, but one of the biggest complaints we had with the Gear S3 was the jump up in size from the Gear S2. Thankfully that jump doesn’t feel as dramatic this time around, and kudos to Samsung for making things feel more streamlined.

Samsung Gear Sport Review: Design
The Gear Sport is both smaller and lighter than the Gear S3, which is good news for people with small wrists, but compared with Samsungs Gear Fit2 Pro or even Garmins Vivoactive 3 its still quite a sizeable chunk and this may deter some people from running with it.
Having said that, I found it perfectly comfortable to run with and the heart rate sensor is flush with the casing, which stops it from leaving any kind of imprint on your wrist when you fasten the strap firmly.
The rotating magnetic rotating bezel, which has been carried over from the S2 and S3 before, enables you to quickly flick between widgets to track your general activity levels. Its definitely preferable to swiping your finger across the screen, especially when its cold outside.
Without doubt, though, the Gear Sports best design feature is its 1.2in AMOLED display. The first time I turned it on, I was staggered at how good it looks and it puts many other multisport watches displays to shame.

I Recommend The Samsung Health App
I used the Samsung Health app for some time while I had my Samsung phone. I enjoyed the capabilities of the functions in the app and enjoyed the heart rate monitoring sensor associated with the Samsung phone and the app. My Samsung phone crashed and my family members are all I phone users so I am now using an I phone. I was disappointed that I could not find an all inclusive app such as this Samsung Health app. I downloaded it again onto my I phone and I am happy once again except for the fact that I do not have the heart rate sensor on my I phone to use with the app. I may have to buy a watch that will relate the HR to the app. I recommend this app because of its functions and ease of use!!!! This app has many different fitness categories to choose, an active pedometer, and categories to track food consumption for nutrition. I am currently using the food intake function to track and limit my calories and I am happy with this function as well!
